Common Items to Gather Before Visiting Your CPA:

A list of questions you may have
•
All forms, for example:
o
W-2 Form(s)
o
1099 Form(s)
•
Stock/Bond/Mutual Fund Statement(s)
•
1098 Form(s) (Mortgage Interest Statements)
•
Tuition Statement(s)
•
Miscellaneous items, such as:
o
charitable contributions
o
medical expenses
o
medical mileage
o
moving expenses
o
job search expenses
o
unreimbursed employee expenses
o
security box rental amount
o
investment expenses
•
Property tax statement(s)
•
Estimated tax payment amounts and dates for federal and state
•
Any correspondence received during the year from the IRS or state
•
Copy of prior year's tax return
•
Social Security Numbers and birthdates of you, your spouse, and any dependents you may have
•
If you have a business, all records of receipts and disbursements, mileage log(s)
•
If in doubt, bring all statements, forms, and amounts in!
